I thought you may be interested in an experience that me and Stan (my cat) had where we both saw what I think was the spirit of one of my previous cats. This happened in 2019, the last cat to die in this house, Teddy (female) was in June 2016.
I was pottering in the bedroom when I noticed Stan on the floor standing on his hind legs completely upright like a meerkat looking on the bed. He has never stood like this before or since. His head was bobbing up and down, as though to get a better look, and he appeared extremely curious & fascinated at something on the bed. I looked on the bed, didn’t see anything and looked back at Stan, he was still standing like a meerkat. When I looked back on the bed again, I saw what I can only describe as a black diffuse form which didn’t really have a shape but was the size of a cat. This then dropped down the far side of the bed. I peered hesitantly (😂) round the side of the bed but it had disappeared. I saw the same thing a couple of weeks later when I was actually in bed and it jumped up onto the bed, shot across and down the other side. Both Stan and Fred (my other cat) were sleeping on the bed with me at the time but they were too busy snoozing to have noticed.
The interesting thing for me about this experience is that it was Stan’s behaviour which led me to see the first ‘visit’ and this also validated what I was seeing as he was obviously seeing it too. I think this may have been Teddy as it’s the only other cat that Stan has lived with. The experience didn’t freak me out as I’ve had a few experiences since my Mom died, she seems very keen to let me know that she is still around 🙏🏼🙏🏼.
